Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has on Saturday said that more than 21 lakh migrant labourers/workers have returned safely so far. As many as 1018 Shramik Special Trains brought migrants from various parts of the country while 178 trains are still en route and they have used buses and other transport means as well. He directed that the migrants should be escorted safely to their homes in their respective native districts.

The CM, while reviewing the Lockdown arrangements at a meeting held at his residence, instructed that the migrants should be treated with food and drinking water immediately as they enter the state. They should be taken to quarantine centres soon after their return. They should be provided food packets in the quarantine centres and should be sent to their respective homes with ration kits if found healthy after thermal scanning. He asked to ensure that every needy person should be provided with food and foodgrains.

He said that during home quarantine, the migrants should get sustenance allowance of Rs. 1000 each. All the members including Asha workers should remain activated in the vigilance committees for surveillance of home quarantined persons while posters to be pasted outside the home quarantined persons.

The CM reiterated that in order to provide suitable jobs to migrants, their skill mapping should be done while they are in quarantine. For this purpose, the job cards should be prepared of eligible and willing ones. Also, the returnee nursing personnel and paramedics should be subjected to training.

Directing to make people follow Lockdown rules strictly, he said the effective patrolling should be done to ensure no crowding takes place. There should be intensified patrolling and arrangement of ambulance on expressways, he further directed. The home delivery system in the containment zone should be strengthened while extra preventive measures to be taken at Mandi places.

The Chief Minister asked to explore possibilities of re-use of N-95 masks and PPE kits. If some institution has developed some technique in this regard, it should be studied and taken note of, he added. He said that all emergency and surgery activities barring OPDs in the hospitals should be run with all the preventive measures in place.

He directed to ramp up testing facilities to ten thousand per day. He also asked to procure equipment like TruNAT to get early results of the testing. He also directed to raise bed capacity in L-1, L-2 and L-3 hospitals to one lakh by the end of this month.
