Chief Minister takes serious note of the murder of Mau rape victim

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has taken a serious view of the Mau incident in which a rape victim was killed. He has directed police officers to ensure immediate arrest of the accused and stringent action against them.
Issuing directions to form special crack teams to work out the case and ensure arrest of the accused, Mr. Yadav also asked officers to ensure security to the family of the deceased. He also expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and assured them full support from the state government.
The Chief Minister also said that the police officers have been asked to ensure that the guilty are booked under the relevant sections of the law and case registered with due diligence and probed threadbare. He urged officers to ensure that the case is put up effectively before law and the accused handed out such sentence that it becomes an example and acts as a deterrent for those who want to indulge in such crimes.
The Chief Minister while terming the incident as most unfortunate and saddening, also directed the DGP to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future and that callous policemen should be identified and acted upon. Mr. Yadav pointed out that in such incidents security should be specially arranged for the victims and that in cases where carelessness by policemen has come to light, strict action should be initiated.
