In this hour of natural calamity quake victims need all possible help
Former MP Mr. Bhagwati Singh and Member of Legislative Council Dr. Ashok Bajpai today handed over cheques for quake victims of Nepal to Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav at his Shastri Bhawan office. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that Nepal has suffered in a big way owing to the earthquake and there has been loss of lives and property.
Nepal, he further added, was a neighbouring country and for centuries people of both sides have stood by each other in thick and thin. Any amount of help would be little for the quake survivors he stated. He said that the people of Nepal need all possible help in this hour of distress.
It may be pointed out here that the organisations which contributed towards Nepal relief include Rs. 11 lakh from Bharat Sewa Sansthan, established by late Chief Minister Mr. Chandra Bhanu Gupta, Rs 6 lakh from Chandra Bhanu Gupta Agriculture Degree College, Bakshi ka Talaab, Rs. 3 lakh from Chandrika Devi Mela Samiti, Kathwara, Bakshi Ka Talaab, Rs. 1,11,011 from Bal Nikunj Inter College, Lucknow, Rs. 11 lakh from Mr. Ramendra Singh (Monu) State Secretary of the Samajwadi Vyapar Sabha.
Mr. Bhagwati Singh is the Chairman of the Bharat Sewa Sansthan and Dr. Ashok Bajpai is the treasurer. Also present on the occasion were Mr. Ram Asrey Vishwakarma, Chairman of the State Backward Caste Commission and other people’s representatives.
