Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav today in response to a question by media persons told reporters at Agra that the state government was ready to extend all support and help to initiatives by the union government for development of the state. He pointed out that the previous union government had sought land for setting up of AIIMS at Rae Bareli and the land was provided to them for the project.

It is important to point out here that the land sought by the Union Textile Ministry for setting up of a Trade Facilitation Centre and Crafts Museum in Varanasi had already been earmarked for a Varanasi Haat proposal mooted by the state government, which was also beneficial for the weavers. For the Trade Facilitation and Crafts Museum proposed by the union government, another land was shown but it was disapproved by the Central Government. The Union Government went ahead with the project on a land belonging to it.

The State Government was never and will never be found wanting in providing land for any central project.
