UP CM Akhilesh Yadav launches projects worth Rs 2,400 crore in state
In an attempt to usher in development in Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav laid foundation of projects worth Rs 2400 crore across state on Tuesday with a promise that Samajwadi Party Government would change the face of UP by opening new door of opportunity for the youth. He also unveiled the logo of Lucknow metro.
“The Uttar Pradesh Government means business. We are inviting private sector companies to set up their units in Uttar Pradesh. This would not only bring investment but also generate employment,” Yadav said while addressing people in during laying foundation stones. Yadav in a whirlwind tour of the state laid foundation stones of different projects in Kannauj, Kanpur dehat and Chak gajeria farm in the state capital. He also announced setting up of industrial estate in Umarda in Kannauj, the parliamentary constituency of Dimple Yadav, his wife.
In Kannauj he laid foundation stone of corn based starch and bi-product manufacturing unit to be set up by Vardan Industries. This factory is expected to produce 300 ton of corn base starch. “Corn has many uses. It is used in many industries including in pharmaceutical industries. Once it become operational it will bring prosperity in this area,” Yadav. “My Government is looking for generating employment across the state. In Etawah a dairy plant is being set up while another milk plant would come up at Chak Gajaria where 5 lakh litre milk would be produced everyday. This milk processing unit would give employment to over 10,000 people,” he said.
He said that largest population of youth reside in UP. Majority of them are unemployed. The Samajwadi Party government is trying to generate employment for them so that they did not have to go to other places to eke out their living. “Till we cannot give employment we are giving unemployment allowance to them and will continue to do so,” Chief Minister said declared.
Talking about the achievement of the state government he said that farmers are getting free electricity, subsidized quality seeds and fertilizers. The Government has provided then water for irrigation and linking villages with the roads. “The Samajwadis believe that unless villages progress the state cannot move ahead,”” he said. Chief Minister said Lucknow will have metro soon. “We have crossed all hurdles. We have generated required funds for this project and within no time Lucknow will become of the cities in India having its own Metro,” he said and also unveiled logo of Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC).
Without naming Narendra Modi he said that some people do less work but go for more publicity. “Gujarat is only ahead in publicity whereas Uttar Pradesh is continuously developing. I always say that UP is first in implementing schemes but last in getting publicity. The time has come to go for publicity so that people could know what out government is doing exactly,” he said.
Addressing the rally in Kauuaj he said that the region was one of the most backwards areas of the state but with private industries setting up their units here this area will gallop to the path of development. “A Medical college and a paramedical college would also be set up here. The RCC roads will be constructed because rains destroy the tar roads,” he said. In Kannauj he laid foundation of 29 projects worth Rs 196.49 crore.
