Guidelines for development, running and maintenance of IT parks issued
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has said that the state government was working seriously to create enough job opportunities in the Information technology (IT) sector. He also added that taking advantage of adequate technical institutions in the state, emphasis is also being made for human resource development.
It is for this reason, the Chief Minister added, that the state cabinet has approved the guidelines for development, upkeep and running of the IT parks in the state. This step of the government in times to come the IT sector would get fresh impetus, he further elaborated while pointing out that HCL is developing an IT city in Lucknow on a 100-acre stretch and many decisions taken by the government in this direction will help in making the state an IT hub.
Giving this information, a state spokesman said that the Chief Minister had directed the development authorities of tier 2 and 3 cities to ensure that at least an IT park is developed there. After this happens, the Chief Minister said youngsters from the state will not go anywhere and would prosper by getting enough job opportunities in the state.
The Chief Minister also said that the UP Information technology Policy – 2012 has been implemented and the state government was extending all possible help for establishing of IT parks in the state. IT parks can be developed in a minimum floor area of 15,000 square metre and such IT parks established in the state will be declared step up Software and Technology Entrepreneur Park, Uttar Pradesh.
The spokesman also said that in a July 10, 2013 meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary Mr. Jawed Usmani, guidelines for the same were prepared after due deliberations with all concerned parties.
This was approved by the state cabinet on February 26, 2014. It was also informed that the state government had approved four models for establishing of IT parks in the state.
