Divisional Commissioners of Agra and Kanpur asked to give detailed narration on all points
Acting on directives of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, Chief Secretary Mr. Jawed Usmani today reviewed in detail the development in Agra and Kanpur cities. During the review he also directed the divisional commissioners of Kanpur and Agra to submit within a week a detailed narration on all points after due deliberations.
Chief Secretary during the presentation on Kanpur also asked officers to seriously consider proposals of rapid transport systems for connecting Lucknow and Kanpur as twin cities. Along with this, the divisional commissioner of Kanpur was also asked to send a detailed report on relieving the Jhakarkati bus stand of vehicular pressure and construction of alternate bus stands at Vikasnagar, Vijaynagar and Jajmau.
In the same way while deliberating on the presentation for Agra, the chief secretary said that work on inner ring road will be completed within two years. He also added that to develop the area better proposals on medical tourism and other commercial activities should also be taken up. By doing so while more employment would be generated at local level, tourists would also get international facilities.
It was also decided that coordination would be established with the government of India’s agencies concerned to promote nature walk and enhance lighting in and around Taj Mahal for opening it up for night viewing. Mr. Usmani further said that a project has already been sanctioned for developing the Tajganj area. He also underlined the need of widening the road towards Fatehabad and asked work to be kickstarted soon.
After this, the Chief Secretary also called for modernisation of the mandis and making their working more transparent. On this occasion, also present were Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Mr. Rakesh Garg, Mrs. Anita Singh, Principal Secretary (Housing and Urban Planning) Mr. Sadakant and other officers.
