Mr Hooda also stressed that Haryana should be given its due share of water through Agra Canal and Gurgaon Canal so that the farmers get the adequate water for irrigation.

Haryana Chief Minister Mr Bhupinder Singh Hooda has taken up the issue of water at Yamuna Okhla Barage with the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mr Akhilesh Yadav in New Delhi today. Mr Hooda raise the issue in the interest of the state so that Haryana might get its due share of water. This water would help the government in ensuring adequate supply of water for irrigation in the areas of Faridabad, Palwal, Mewat and Gurgaon districts.

Mr Hooda also stressed that Haryana should be given its due share of water through Agra Canal and Gurgaon Canal so that the farmers get the adequate water for irrigation.

The Chief Minister also drew the attention of Mr Akhilesh yadav towards the pollution in water which Haryana is getting from UP especially for Faridabad. He suggested the Utter Pradesh Chief Minister to take steps to minimize the level of the pollution in water as its contamination was adversely effecting the livestock and crops of the farmers.

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh was of the view that water was polluted because of industrial affluent and drainage of Delhi. However, he assured that steps would be taken to minimize the pollution in water. He also directed his concerned officers to take steps to check the problem of gauge at Okhla barrage and this would help in ensuring Haryana’s due share of water.

Mr Yadav said that the issues of mutual interest of the two states would be resolved through dialogue thus the benefitting the farmers of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
