Uttar Pradesh Governor Mr. Ram Naik and Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav today paid rich tributes to freedom fighter and former deputy prime minister of India, late Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel on his anniversary. They garlanded the statue of Sardar Patel here at GPO park.
On this occasion, the Governor said that today was the anniversary of both ‘Iron Man’ Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and Eminent Educationist Acharya Narendra Dev, great persons in their own right. Sardar Patel was known as Ironman due to his personality and his contribution in the freedom struggle and unity of the nation. Acharya Narendra Dev was an eminent ideologue and a great educationist, he added.
The Chief Minister said that today was a day to remember the works and thoughts of Sardar Patel and added that for great persons like him and Acharya Narendra Dev, the greatest tribute would be to tread the path of unity and harmony, shown by them.
Others who paid tributes to Sardar Patel included Ministers Mr. Rajendra Chowdhary, Mr. Narendra Verma and other people’s representatives and dignitaries.
