Disciplinary Action ordered against Dr. NC Prajapati, Divisional Commissioner Agra made inquiry officer
During inspection of Medical College yesterday, the Chief Minister had found the Trauma Centre and Operation Theatre unuseful
Following instructions of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav, former Principal of SN Medical College, Agra Dr. NC Prajapati was suspended for irresponsible works. He is currently posted as Principal of State Medical College, Jalaun. Giving this information, a State Government spokesman said that instructions have also been issued for disciplinary action against Dr. Prajapati. Divisional Commissioner of Agra has been assigned the task of inquiry officer.
It may be pointed out here that the Chief Minister had made a surprise inspection of the SN Medical College during his trip to Agra on Friday. During the visit to the medical college he had found that the trauma centre at the emergency was unuseful and so was the operation table at the operation theatre. Mr. Yadav expressed his displeasure at the poor quality standards and fixing responsibility, asked strict disciplinary action to be taken against the responsible officials.
The spokesman further informed that the construction work of the Trauma Centre began in 2008-09 and purchase and installation of instruments like operation table was done in the year 2010-11. During this time, Dr. Prajapati was the principal of the medical college. The spokesman also pointed out that the quality of construction and other purchases was very poor and adequate care and supervision had not been done with regards to this, following which both the Trauma Centre and the operation table in the OT was not left fit for use.
The government spokesman also said that during the suspension period, Dr. Prajapati shall remain attached to the Medical Education and Training Directorate. Dr. Suresh Chandra Gupta of SPM Department of the Medical College in Kanpur has been given the additional charge of Principal, Government Medical College, Jalaun.
