Chief Minister releases ‘Gita in Urdu Shayari’, a book written by eminent poet Anwar Jalalpuri
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav Friday said that an epic like Bhagvad Gita was relevant in today’s world and added that it was something that one can read time and again and every time one is enriched by something new. Saying that while reading the Gita brought internal peace he mused that more than often the religious scripture was a guiding force in one’s life.
The Chief Minister made these observations at the ‘Ruhani Sangam’ programme at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan held under the aegis of the culture department, Government of UP and Help U Educational and Charitable Trust where a book ‘Urdu Shayari mein Gita,’ translated by eminent poet Mr. Anwar Jalalpuri was released. Lauding the efforts of Mr. Jalalpuri for translating the Gita, the Chief Minister said this was indeed a big effort and said the effort reflected the Ganga-Jamuni culture of Uttar Pradesh.
He also spoke on the need of sustaining and promoting such efforts as they brought cultural harmony and promoted brotherhood. Eminet saint Morari Bapu also spoke on the occassion and praised the efforts of the poet. The Chief Minister earlier lit the ceremonial lamp and inaugurated the programme. Mementoes were gifted to the Chief Minister, Morari Bapu, ministers on the state and other eminent literary luminaries.
The programme was also addressed by the Mayor of Lucknow, Dr. Dinesh Sharma. Also present among others were Health Minister Mr. Ahmad Hasan, Jail Minister Mr. Rajendra Chowdhary, Minister of State for Women Welfare and Culture (Independent Charge) Mrs. Arun Kumari Kori, Dr. Gopal Das Neeraj, Mr. Udai Pratap Singh, Maulana Kalb-e-Sadiq, Prof. Ramesh Dixit and other dignitaries.
