Under this, families of farmers who lost lives untimely in the aftermath of the untimely rains and hailstorm, will be given an ex-gratia of Rs. 5 lakh and other than this, Rs. 2 lakh is being extended from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, as announced by Mr. Yadav on the floor of the state assembly.
Other than this, officials have been instructed to stop all revenue recoveries and ensure that no harassment of farmers is done. The Chief Minister has also asked for principal secretary level officials to be named as nodal officials in the 25 most affected districts, to oversee the distribution of financial aid.
Mr. Yadav has said that despite limited resources, the state government was doing everything, on humanitarian grounds to help the affected farmers owing to the hailstorm and heavy rainfall recently. The state government has also sought Rs. 744 crores as a relief package from the Union Government.
