Chief Minister will also inaugurate an online registration portal
Through this portal, especially abled persons can get themselves registered and get instruments on the designated day
BMVSS to give material for making artificial limbs worth Rs. 15 lakh per year free of cost to the Varsity
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav will inaugurate the Artificial Limb and Rehabilitation Centre at the Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University at 1 pm on June 16, 2015, which has been established with the support of the Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayta Samiti (BMVSS).
On the occasion the Chief Minister will also launch a portal for online registration for the especially abled. Through this facility, the especially abled persons can, with prior registration, get their instruments for artificial limbs. The artificial limb and rehabilitation centre is becoming a reality due to the efforts of Mr. Yadav.
At present, thousands of especially abled persons from the state go to BMVSS Jaipur every year to get the artificial foot, but now with the opening of the centre at Lucknow, the Jaipur foot would be available for them in their own state.
BMVSS every year would be providing material for artificial limb making worth Rs. 15 lakh, free of cost to the university every year. The centre would also strive for economically empowering the especially abled along with their physical rehabilitation. This centre would also function as a multi-facility hub where BMVSS would also train technicians at theLucknow and Jaipur centres.
Besides, from time to time, technical informations and facilities would also be provided by the BMVSS. It is pertinent to highlight here that the state government is working in a sustained and serious manner to help the especially abled and it is with vision in mind that this centre is being established.
