A business newspaper along with Harvard University Professor Michael Porter’s Institute of Competitiveness yesterday at an event – Most Competitive State Award -2015, in New Delhi awarded Uttar Pradesh for Communication, Human Capacity and Factor Conditions
Only recently the World Bank had also listed UP in the top ten states of India with regards to Ease of Doing Business
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has congratulated all the officials, employees of the state government for being included in the category of most competitive states of the country. He added that it was the hard work and dedication of the employees and officials of the state government that UP was on the fast track of progress, development and prosperity.
He also expressed hope that in future too, the employees and officials would continue with their good work. It may be pointed out here that a prominent business newspaper in association with the Institute of Competitiveness, run by Harvard professor Michael Porter, yesterday at an event – Most Competitive State Award – 2015, in New Delhi had awarded Uttar Pradesh on communication, human capacity and factor conditions.
The Chief Minister today handed over all these awards to Chief Secretary Mr. Alok Ranjan and congratulated his team of officials. The state was found to be number 1 in 29 states on parameters of micro-economic competitiveness, factor conditions, financial conditions, physical conditions, communication, administration, human capacity, innovation, demand conditions, demographics, income distribution and spending pattern, context for strategy, CI and diversity of firms, related and supporting, supplier sophistication and institutional support.
The Chief Minister said the award and recognition has come as an honour to the people and the government of Uttar Pradesh. Mr. Yadav also pointed out that only recently, the World Bank, in a report on Ease of Doing Business had ranked UP in the top ten states of India. Other than this, the work of the state in the solar energy sector has also been appreciated on the national level, he said.
Recently, an institution of the Government of India had awarded UPNEDA six prizes. The state, he added, was a land of opportunities and in the past three years a lot of ground has been covered to take the state on the path of comprehensive development and prosperity.
