Chief Minister orders suspension of four officers/employees of the forest department posted in Rampur
Instructions of disciplinary action issued against Divisional Forest Officer of Moradabad
Anybody showing laxity, callousness towards work will not be spared : Chief Minister
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has taken a grim view on illegal felling of trees and has issued directives for immediate suspension of four forest department officers/employees posted in Rampur. These officers/employees include Mr. SP Singh Regional Forest Officer, Mr. Rajbeer Singh Stenographer, Mr. Sompal Forest Guard and Mr. Ramnath Section Officer Saidnagar Division.
Giving this information, a government spokesman said the Chief Minister has also instructed for strict disciplinary action against Mr. BS Brahma, Divisional Forest Officer, Forest Department Moradabad. He has been charged with failure to keep effective control on subordinates, lack of supervision, failure to check and stop exit of illegally felled trees and hence the action has been initiated.
The spokesman said permission for felling of 97 trees was granted in district Rampur, while felling of 366 trees has been done. This meant that 269 trees have been illegally felled and its products transported out. The above mentioned officers/employees were found to be unable to control the problems. The Chief Minister has also warned officers that anyone showing laxity, callousness towards work will not be spared and acted upon.
