Action also taken against six others employees

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has suspended Dr. Ravi Kumar Singh, Divisional Forest Officer Bahraich, Mr. MI Khan, Regional Forest Officer and one Forest Range Officer, 2 Forester, 3 Forest Guards (total 08 officers/employees) and directed for disciplinary action against them. Besides, action has also been initiated against 6 employees.
Giving this information, a state government spokesman said that the divisional officer of Bahraich and regional forest officer have been acted upon for not taking their duties properly, being callous in discharge of their duties and failure in stopping illegal felling of trees. In the same manner, action has been initiated against other officers and employees for being careless in their work and not discharging their duties properly.
This decision was taken after a detailed probe conducted by the District Magistrate, Bahraich into the allegations leveled against the officers/employees. With this, Indian Forest Service (IFS) Mr. Vibhash Ranjan, Forest Conservator Agra has also been removed on similar charges. The Chief Minister has warned officers/employees not to take their duties lightly and in case they are found wanting, strict action will be taken against them.
