The officer was acted upon for apathy in discharge of her duties, passing on wrong information, being indifferent to developmental works and unsupportive
Action will be taken against officials who show apathy towards their official duties : Chief Minister
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday ordered suspension of Ghaziabad’s statistical officer Ms. Laxmi Devi for apathy in discharge of her duties, passing on wrong information, being indifferent to developmental works and being unsupportive in government work. Departmental action has also been initiated against the errant officer and a probe report within 30 days has been sought by the chief minister.
It is pertinent to point out here that the district magistrate of Ghaziabad had complained in writing to the government that the said officer was not working properly, was victimizing her subordinates, stopping their salaries at her own level, not following government orders and showing apathy towards work.
The Ghaziabad DM had also, in his complaint, said that for the review meeting chaired by Chief Minister himself, the officer did not provide details and statistics on the format asked for by the chief secretary.
The Chief Minister has also warned officers against dereliction of duty and said that stringent action would be taken against such officers.
