No callousness will be tolerated on this
Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has issued directives to officials to prepare an action plan in three days to solve the problem of open defecation in the state capital within 30 days. Expecting officials not to be callous with regards to this issue, the Chief Minister said he will not tolerate any dereliction of duty. Providing this information, a state government spokesman said today that instructions have been issued by the Chief Minister to the Divisional Commissioner, District Magistrate and the Municipal Commissioner of Lucknow to find solution to the problem and take effective measures.
The spokesman further added that Mr. Yadav had directed the Lucknow District Magistrate to conduct a detailed survey in the city and the findings of the survey found that 25,000 people in 67 localities/basti’s go out to answer nature’s call in open. They are forced to do so due to non-availability of toilets at their homes.
