Financial aid from Chief Minister removes financial roadblock in treatment
Chief Minister had come to know of Mr. Shubham’s problem during a televised TV quiz show
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has approved a financial assistance of Rs. 6.70 lakh for treatment of Mr. Shubham, resident of Meerut, for treatment of his kidney ailment. Giving this information, a State Government spokesman said Mr. Nirankush Kumar, brother of Mr. Shubham had participated in a quiz show at a private television channel.
During the telecast, Mr. Kumar had said that kidney transplant procedure has to be done on his brother for which they did not have the requisite funds. And he added that it was with hope to win the quiz and get the prize money for treatment of his brother. When the anchor of the show had asked him about the required amount, he had informed that the transplant was to cost Rs. 12 lakh.
The spokesman further informed that when the matter came to the notice of the Chief Minister he enquired about the whole issue. Mr. Yadav was informed that Mr. Kumar did win the quiz but after tax deductions from the prize money, he was left with just Rs. 6 lakh which were not enough from treatment of Mr. Shubham.
Keeping this in mind and treating it as a special case, the Chief Minister has approved Rs. 6.70 lakh, after which the financial hurdles in way of Mr. Shubham’s treatment have been removed.
