Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav on occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar today paid floral tributes at the urn holding his ashes and garlanded his statue. On this occasion, the Chief Minister recalled the great works done by Baba Saheb for upliftment and welfare of the weaker sections and the marginalised sections of the society.
As a befitting tribute to the great leader and author of the Indian Constitution, the Chief Minister also announced a public holiday on December 6; the death anniversary of the Dalit icon. In his address at the Dr. Ambedkar Mahasabha campus, Mr. Yadav said that following the path shown by the great leader can bring equality in the society and also ensure economic progress of all sections of the society.
Also present on the occasion were Political Pensions Minister Mr. Rajendra Chowdhary, Social Welfare Minister Mr. Awadhesh Prasad, other public representatives and office bearers of the Ambedkar Mahasabha.
