Chief Minister seeks cooperation from Centre to strengthen judicial system in the state
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has written a letter to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, seeking cooperation and support of the centre to strengthen judicial system in the state. In his letter, Mr. Yadav has also referred to his earlier communications dated June 09, 2015, wherein he had given reply to the letter of Prime Minister dated April 23, 2015 for implementation of the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission to strengthen the judicial system in the state.
In his letter, the Chief Minister has written that adequate funds for the state government under the fiscal space with the state were not available, keeping in mind the increase in the central allotment for the financial year 2015-16, to implement the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission to strengthen the judicial system in the state. Support from the union government has been sought in light of the decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court SCC-502(2012), Mr. Brij Mohan Lal Vs Union of India on December 19, 2012. With no information forthcoming from the central government, the Chief Minister has again requested to the Prime Minister.
