Against a target of 3,000, Nationalized/Scheduled Banks have opened 3,252 branches in the state during the financial year 2014-15. In view of this milestone, the Chief Minister has decided to reward officials of the Institutional Finance department under which officials would be given a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 each and certificates of appreciation.
The Chief Minister was today reviewing the works of the Institutional Finance and Insurance and Externally Aided Project Department where he observed that it was because of the hard work of the officials of the department that a target of 108 per cent was achieved in opening of bank branches in the state.
Benefits of government schemes reach to the people at grass roots through opening of bank branches, Mr. Yadav stated. He also instructed officials to ensure that various other schemes being executed by the department also met with cent-per-cent targets so that the people of the state can be benefited.
Officials who have been chosen for the reward for excellence in work include Principal Secretary Institutional Finance Mr. Rahul Bhatnagar, Director General Mr. Shiv Singh Yadav and Joint Secretary Dr. Surya Prakash.
