Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has announced a financial assistance of Rs. 30 lakh to the late Shahjahanpur journalist Mr. Jagendra Singh and government jobs for his two children. The Chief Minister met the father and son of the late journalist at his official residence today.
Expressing his heartfelt condolences on the death of Mr. Singh, the Chief Minister expressed his sympathies to the bereaved family on the untimely demise of Mr. Singh. Mr. Akhilesh Yadav also assured the family members of a fair probe into the episode and said that adequate security arrangements for the family would also be ensured. He said the probe has been handed over to the IG (Bareilly) and added that the guilty will not be spared.
During the meeting, the family of late Jagendra Singh briefed the Chief Minister about a land that they alleged had been grabbed. Mr. Yadav instructed the district magistrate of Shahjahanpur to ensure that the land is measured properly and that the land be handed over to its rightful owner.
