Korean Ambassador discuss plans to make the memorial at Ayodhya more grand and viewable
Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Mr. Joon Gyu Lee called on the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister at his official residence. During the meeting, the visiting ambassador told Mr. Yadav that Uttar Pradesh and Republic of Korea enjoyed cultural and historical ties. He also deliberated on various issues including the vast potential of expanding people-to-people connect, tourism, industrial sectors and employment opportunities for people of Uttar Pradesh in Korea.
Mr. Yadav told the visiting dignitary that the state government would like to work on the already existing solid bond with Korea and enhance development in the state. He also expressed his desire to see the UP-Korean relations scale a new high.
During the meeting the scope of working more closely and to ensure better coordination were also taken up for some serious discussions. It may be pointed out here that in the year 2000 a delegation from South Korea had come to Faizabad and a contract was signed to make it a sister city with Kim He city of Korea. Under this understanding, a memorial was built in Ayodhya by the Crock Clan society where a large number of Korean tourists visit every year. They also travel to other parts of the state.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea also discussed on the how to make the memorial more grand and viewable. It is also pertinent to point out here that the Kim people believe that 2000 years ago, a princess from Ayodhya had gone to Korea where she tied the nuptial with King Kim Soro. At present their descendants in Korea are members of the Croc Clan.
