Chief Minister writes to Chief Justice requesting setting up of fast track courts

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has requested the Hon’ble Allahabad High Court to give its consent to set up fast track courts in all districts of the state. Mr. Yadav has written a letter with regards to this to the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court, Justice Dr. D.Y. Chandrachud.
Giving this information here today, a state spokesman said that the Chief Minister has also mentioned in his letter that the government held the honour and respect for women in the society of prime importance and was committed to give a safe and secure environment to the women in the state. The Chief Minister also rued the fact that certain anti-social elements were targeting women and cases of crimes against them were being reported and underlined the need of stringent action against such elements.
To bring an end to the criminal activities against the women, the Chief Minister further wrote, it was necessary that prompt justice was done and cases dispensed urgently and the criminals punished at the earliest. For this, Mr. Yadav added, the government had mooted setting up of fast track courts in the state and has requested the Allahabad HC to give its consent for the same.
