Hands over cheques of Rs. 15 lakh each to the widow, father of the martyr
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday paid a visit to the Babupurwa house in Kanpur of late Navy martyr Lt. Commander Alok Sahu and paid floral tributes to him. During his meeting with the family members of martyr Sahu, the C.M. handed over cheques of Rs. 15 lakh each to the father and widow of the martyred soldier.
It may be recalled that Lieutenant Commander Alok Sahu was killed in the Sindhuratna submarine accident in Mumbai. Mr. Yadav met the family members of the martyr and condoled his father Mr. P. L. Sahu, mother Mrs. Raj Kishori and widow Mrs. Vineeta Sahu. The Chief Minister also met local people and listened to their problems.
He directed the district magistrate for prompt redress of the grievances brought to his notice by the people and ensure quality in the road construction and repairs. After this, the Chief Minister partook in the marriage celebrations of the son of industrialist Mr. Deepak Kothari at his Swaroopnagar residence and extended his greetings.
On return he spoke to journalists at the Kanpur police Lines helipad and informed that on the world environment day 50,000 saplings were planted in Kannauj and that the target was to plant 1,00,000 saplings.
The Chief Minister also pointed out how he visited the families of every martyred soldier who hailed from Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Jail Minister Mr. Rajendra Chowdhary and ‘Water Man’ Mr. Rajendra Singh.
Also present were Divisional Commissioner Mohd. Iftikharuddin, District Magistrate Dr. Roshan Jacob, SSP Mr. Ajay Kumar Mishra and other officers.
