New mechanism will cut on unnecessary running around and would make the process transparent
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav has given his approval for implementation of ‘UP e-pension system’ for the benefit of lakhs of pensioners in the state. A state spokesman said that under the new system, unnecessary running around would be cut down and filling up of pension forms, checking, verification and pension payment from start to end will be done based on an online computer system.
This mechanism – ‘UP e-pension system’ has been developed with the help of the NIC. The spokesman further informed that the current system of pension approval is manual under which all procedures related to pension reimbursement are done manually. Papers are sent through postal system leading to inordinate delays and long time spans in completion of the procedures. This, he added, also affected transparency in the process.
The spokesman pointed out that under the new system no changes would be made in the rules of pension approval and added that under the new procedure only pension forms filling up and online disposal of ‘Pension Pradhikar Patra’ will be done. This will benefit all the retired state government employees.
